Commissioning Director

Location: Amarillo, TX
Role Summary

The Commissioning Director is responsible for leading and managing all commissioning activities across multiple projects, ensuring systems and facilities meet design specifications and operational requirements. This role oversees the full commissioning lifecycle-from planning and pre-functional checks to integrated system testing and final handover-while maintaining compliance with codes, standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement commissioning strategies for mission-critical projects.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, controls) through all commissioning phases.
  • Drive continuous improvement of commissioning processes and standards.
  • Prepare and oversee commissioning plans, scripts, and schedules.
  • Validate installations and perform functional and integrated system tests.
  • Coordinate with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless transition from construction to operational readiness.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards (ASHRAE, LEED), and client requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation: deficiency logs, test reports, and final commissioning records.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for commissioning activities.
  • Provide regular status updates and technical reports to clients and senior management.
  • Recruit, mentor, and train commissioning staff.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and performance excellence.


Requirements

Required Qualifications
