Full Job Description
Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Collections Manager II to join our Financial Services team in Cypress, CA. The Collections Manager II will be responsible for managing the Retail collections functions of Yamaha Financial Services (Credit Card and Installment portfolios) including all aspects of the collections, repossession, remarketing, and recovery processes, in additional to oversight of all repossession, auction, and agency vendors to negotiate pricing, contracts, and performance metrics. Position strives to maintain delinquency rates within forecasted/budgeted ranges and achieve the highest recovery on the liquidation of collateral while ensuring adherence to all company policies and procedures, as well as all state and federal guidelines.

What you'll be doing:
  • Day to day management of the Retail Collection department responsible for collections, repossession management, remarketing activities, recovery efforts, and all other aspects of the portfolio servicing strategy.
  • Recruit, supervise, develop, coach, and motivate direct reports to ensure day to day operational processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage all collection and repossession policies to ensure compliance with all Federal and State legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and report on corrective and preventive actions including collections, repossessions, remarketing, and recover activities.
  • Responsible for the active oversight of the effectiveness of YMFC-US collections and recovery activities.
  • Define, design, and develop back-end tracking and reporting including repossession, auction, and recovery management performance.
  • Lead communications with 3rd party servicing vendors to ensure coordination of collection efforts and strategies to mitigate delinquency and charge offs.
  • Monitor 3rd party Servicing vendors to ensure SLAs are in adherence with contract standards.
  • Work with YMFC-US Technology, Vendor Management, and other departments to determine and implement vendor integrations needed to support all collection activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education/experience required
  • Minimum 10+ years of operational experience in collections, repossession, remarketing and recovery activities required
  • Minimum of 7 years of supervision/management experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong leadership skills with successful track record developing and motivating high performance teams and Powersports and/or Auto finance industry experience required

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and state consumer collections laws
  • Ability to interpret state-specific laws on repossession, sales notice and collateral requirements
  • High sense of urgency and detail oriented

Decision-Making Responsibility:
  • High degree of autonomy and authority to effectively work together with vendors, team members, and other Yamaha departments
  • 3 direct reports and will manage team of 25-30 FTE
  • Vendor Selection to ensure best in class integration partners to support collection activities
  • Developing collection strategies to minimize delinquency and losses as well as maximizing recoveries
  • Position will be expected to provide specific direction for optimizing business results
  • Developing relationships with collection agencies and debt buyers to maximize recoveries

Pay:

$86,000 to $172,000

Yamaha intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related experience. Base pay is part of Yamaha's Total Reward program, our Talent Acquisition Team will share more details as candidates progress.
