Typical Task:- Lead and oversee library collections, acquisitions, cataloging, processing, and digital services.
- Manage Collection Services staff by providing leadership, coaching, and professional development.
- Develop and evaluate print, digital, and electronic collections to meet community needs.
- Oversee division budgets, vendor contracts, and digital subscription services.
- Implement new technologies and collaborate with City IT on library systems and technology initiatives.
- Coordinate collection development, weeding practices, and Integrated Library System (ILS) operations.
- Represent Collection Services in leadership meetings and support strategic planning across the library system.
Minimum Requirements- Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited college or university or a closely related field of study.
- Five (5) years of full-time equivalent experience in Cataloging, Acquisitions, Collection Management, Digital Services, or a closely related field.
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
- Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
Additional Requirements- The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager, which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
