FunctionThe City of Hampton is seeking a strategic and collaborative
Human Resources Manager to join our HR leadership team. In this key role, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to City leaders, providing strategic HR guidance, leading employee relations initiatives, ensuring employment law compliance, and advancing programs that support a high-performing workforce. What You'll DoAs the Human Resources Manager, you will:
- Serve as a strategic HR partner, advising City leaders on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.
- Assist with labor relations activities, including contract administration and collective bargaining support.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment law compliance (EEO, ADAAA, FLSA, USERRA, and other applicable regulations).
- Lead employee relations efforts, including workplace investigations, grievance administration, and performance coaching.
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes and recommend updates to HR policies and practices.
- Supervise, coach, and develop Human Resources staff while fostering a high-performing team.
- Support HR strategic initiatives, departmental priorities, and budget planning.
- Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and best practices to enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Design and deliver training on leadership, employee relations, compliance, and other HR topics.
