Job Description

We have an opening for Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Software Developer. You will contribute to a broad spectrum of site operations across the Laboratory by developing, configuring, integrating, and supporting CMMS capabilities and data analysis tools. The Laboratory's current CMMS environment is an on-premises implementation of Octave EAM, formerly known as HxGN EAM. You will develop operational system applications while working with members of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. This position is in the Enterprise Application Services (EAS) Division within the Computing Directorate, in support of the LivIT Program.

This position offers a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.

This position will be filled at either theSES.2 or SES.3 level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

In this role, you will
  • Define, design, configure, and implement CMMS modules and functionality in collaboration with project team members, consultants, and business stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain moderately complex to complex CMMS workflows, integrations, interfaces, and supporting software.
  • Work primarily within the Laboratory's on-premises Octave EAM environment, formerly known as HxGN EAM.
  • Integrate the CMMS with external systems and enterprise applications using established interfaces, standards, and development practices.
  • Migrate and transform data from legacy systems into the CMMS.
  • Analyze and resolve operational issues involving CMMS functionality, integrations, data, and system interfaces.
  • Complete technical reviews, support code migration, and provide technical artifacts for an internal knowledge base.
  • Work under limited direction, exercising independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities at the SES.3 Level
  • Design and implement complex CMMS integrations with third-party software packages and enterprise systems.
  • Independently develop complex software solutions to solve abstract CMMS, data, integration, and operational problems.
  • Determine technical approaches, evaluate alternatives, and apply innovative methods and technologies to complex CMMS and enterprise-application projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project team members for complex enhancements, integrations, and modernization effort to the Laboratory's on-premises Octave EAM implementation.
  • Serve as a primary technical contact for assigned CMMS projects, coordinating with customers, vendors, and stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
  • Mentor less-experienced personnel and contribute to technical standards, practices, and reusable solution patterns.

Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Broad technical skills developing, configuring, integrating, or supporting commercial off-the-shelf computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Experience with Octave EAM, formerly HxGN EAM, is applicable but not required.
  • Proficient with one or more technologies commonly used to extend or integrate CMMS platforms, such as Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript, web services, APIs, integration middleware, or comparable technologies.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills necessary to interact with project team members, customers, and stakeholders while working under limited direction in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills necessary to prepare, present, and document technical information.

Additional Qualifications at the SES.3 Level
  • Significant experience implementing complex database, integration, and software solutions in support of CMMS or enterprise applications, including Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Advanced experience applying effective analytical and problem-solving skills to moderately complex problems, such as identifying data integrity issues, system errors, integration failures, and performance issues.
  • Significant experience developing business intelligence reports using MicroStrategy, IBM Cognos, or a similar business intelligence software package.
  • Advanced experience providing technical leadership for CMMS implementations, enhancements, integrations, or modernization efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently determine technical approaches, lead work through project milestones, and provide technical guidance to others

Qualifications We Desire
  • Experience with Octave EAM, formerly known as HxGN EAM, particularly in an on-premises environment.
  • Experience tuning Oracle SQL queries and diagnosing database or application performance issues.
  • Experience with CMMS asset management, preventive maintenance, work management, inventory, procurement, or related maintenance operations.
  • Experience with CMMS configuration, workflows, reporting, security, system administration, data migration, or application support.
  • Experience with software development and configuration management tools such as Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, or similar technologies.

Pay Range

$146,340 -$222,564 Annually

$146,340 - $185,544 Annually for SES.2

$175,530 - $222,564 Annually for SES.3

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
