Cloud Software Engineer (Azure)About the roleAs a Cloud Software Engineer, you will make an impact by architecting and building cloud-native, API-driven solutions on Microsoft Azure that move, transform, and orchestrate data securely across enterprise systems. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, architects, and cross-functional Agile delivery teams.

In this role, you will- Architect and develop solutions on Microsoft Azure, leveraging Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, and related services for data movement, transformation, and orchestration between systems.
- Own the full API lifecycle using Azure API Management, including API design (REST, OpenAPI/Swagger), development, versioning, security, analytics, monitoring, and deprecation.
- Implement API security, including authentication and authorization with Azure Active Directory, and develop and manage custom API security policies, mTLS, and API throttling.
- Develop APIs using GraphQL as well as Java, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Boot.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git and GitHub Actions while working within Agile/Scrum teams.

What you need to have to be considered- Hands-on experience architecting and developing solutions on Microsoft Azure using Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, and related services.
- Strong API lifecycle management experience with Azure API Management, including API design (REST, OpenAPI/Swagger), versioning, security, analytics, monitoring, and deprecation.
- Proven API security experience implementing authentication/authorization with Azure Active Directory, plus custom API security policies, mTLS, and API throttling.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Boot for API development, along with GraphQL API development.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL/Oracle/MongoDB), PL/SQL, CI/CD tooling (Git, GitHub Actions), and working in Agile/Scrum teams.
These will help you stand out- Working knowledge of Angular, JavaScript, or C++ to explore and understand existing applications.
- Experience designing scalable, high-performance data integration patterns across distributed systems.

Salary and Other CompensationApplications will be accepted until October 9, 2026
- The annual salary for this position is between $69,000 - $114,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
