Position Overview:
The Cloud Engineering Architect's primary responsibilities are centered around deploying, maintaining, and reviewing enterprise network architecture, particularly focusing on Azure Cloud infrastructure and its core services such as Databricks, ACR, APIM, Kubernetes, SQL, Storage and CI/CD deployment via code (IaC) such as Bicep, Terraform, and ARM Templates. The role requires proficiency in both Azure Networking Architecture and native Azure Core Services behind corporate firewalls in a zero-trust environment. This role demands a blend of technical proficiency across various network technologies and core Azure Resources, a proactive and self-driven approach to work, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across teams. It offers significant opportunities for career development and the chance to contribute to the evolution of enterprise network architecture and cloud infrastructure.

Advises strategic direction while providing leadership for the design, engineering, and implementation for consolidating and standardizing infrastructure and applications throughout Sutter Health and its affiliates. Interprets architecture requirements, design, product evaluations, selection, and integration of new technology to support Sutter Health needs. Develops enterprise infrastructure, data management, and application technology strategies, standards, and solution architecture. Performs requirements analysis, design, product evaluations, selection, and integration of new technology supporting the needs of Sutter Health. Recognized as an expert at Sutter Health within their job family. Lastly, leads information services (IS) systems projects through collaboration, coordination, and implementation across multiple teams.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • 12 years of recent experience.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Mastery of GitHub Enterprise or Azure DevOps for version control and Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate deployment and management of cloud resources.
  • Experience in Azure architecture, engineering, implementation, and support.
  • Expert level skills in the implementation and troubleshooting of the following key areas of the Azure Platform: Azure Networking (virtual networks, routing behaviors, private link service, private endpoints, DNS), Azure Kubernetes, Azure Databricks.
  • Working level knowledge and experience with the following: GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, PowerShell/Bash, Bicep, ARM Templates.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Advanced knowledge in formulating state-of-the-art enterprise strategic architecture framework plans.
  • Advanced knowledge in the engineering, implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of a wide range of server and storage platforms.
  • Expert knowledge of visualization technologies.
  • Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.

Pay Range is $165,339.20 to $264,555.20 / annual salary. For candidates residing in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, the Pay Range is $148,824.00 to $238,118.40 / annual salary. For candidates residing in Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah the Pay Range is $132,288.00 to $211,598.40 / annual salary. For candidates in California, New Jersey, and Washington the pay range Pay Range is $165,339.20 to $264,492.80 / annual salary.

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health's comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
