Job Description:

HOW A CLOUD ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • We are looking for a Cloud/Observability Engineer to ensure our systems are operating effectively at scale. As an Observability Engineer you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing the stability, scalability, and performance of our rapidly evolving infrastructure. Candidate will work closely with cross functional teams, including software engineers, product managers and DevOps engineers to maintain and improve resilient systems.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: BA/BS degree
  • Required Experience: 6+ years
  • Required Technical Skills:
  • Documented experience developing and maintaining systems that allow for effective monitoring, logging, and tracing of applications.
  • Experience regularly analyzing system performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience with detecting anomalies, troubleshooting incidents, monitoring system health and supporting compliance and security efforts.
  • Documented experience with monitoring and alerting best practices within a cloud native environment. Associated tools: (CloudWatch, Icinga)
  • Experience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing DevOps tools, such as GitHub and Jenkins, to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
  • Regularly review telemetry data and make recommendations for improvements and cost efficiencies based on data.
  • Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Location: On Customer Site, Herndon, VA
  • US Citizenship Required
  • After-hours on call rotation is a requirement for this position. It is normally one week at a time and rotates approximately every eight weeks.

The likely salary range for this position is $142,792 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
