Job Summary
The Cloud AWS Engineer will develop conceptual, logical, and physical IT engineering designs supporting infrastructure requirements for technical and business application projects. The role will analyze business requirements, ensure traceability between business and technical infrastructure requirements, assess testing needs, and prepare testing strategies, implementation plans, and transition plans. The engineer will provide hands-on technical expertise across cloud infrastructure, solution delivery, migration, integration, and production environments, with a focus on AWS and hybrid cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement solutions using cloud-based technologies and AWS services.
• Serve as a hands-on technical engineer supporting system projects and strategic technology initiatives.
• Support the planning, development, migration, and integration of applications and services from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based platforms and Infrastructure-as-a-Service environments.
• Resolve complex hardware, environmental, software operating system, and subsystem issues.
• Identify and implement problem-avoidance actions within cloud hosting environments.
• Implement changes to business information and technical systems.
• Analyze and revise existing system logic and technical documentation as necessary.
• Assess risks and recommend solutions to minimize or prevent system interruptions.
• Evaluate, recommend, and select appropriate software and hardware technologies.
• Perform change and problem management using standard tools and processes.
• Ensure conformance and compliance with established system and technical standards.
• Monitor system performance to ensure proper operation and reliability.
• Lead highly technical and complex projects utilizing available staff and resources.
• Follow and ensure adherence to technical standards for programming and design techniques.
• Train technical staff on the use of software and hardware tools in accordance with required standards and procedures.
• Monitor compliance with internal audit requirements and Information Security Manual guidelines.
• Support CI/CD automation and software delivery processes across the SDLC.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• 6+ years of IT solution delivery engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud services.
• Experience planning, developing, migrating, and integrating applications and services from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based platforms and Infrastructure-as-a-Service environments.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud technologies.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Experience with AWS Config, AWS Inspector, and AWS GuardDuty.
• Proficiency in CI/CD automation and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices.
• Proficiency with Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience with Ansible.
• Working knowledge of cloud solution architecture and design.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and infrastructure issues.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical infrastructure designs.
• Ability to develop testing strategies, implementation plans, and transition plans.
• Ability to work effectively with shifting priorities, ambiguity, multiple demands, and rapid change.
• Strong understanding of technical standards, system performance, security, compliance, and change management.
