Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Services, the Clinical Services Manager is responsible for the oversight of Clinical Services team in Ontario East.

Through leading a team of Clinical Consultant Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and assistants the Clinical Services Manager ensures a smooth and effective day to day operations of clinical services.

Your Day To Day

  • Plans, supervises and evaluates the day to day workflow of the clinical team
  • Completion of routine assessments of the clinical team's core tasks (visit frequency, audit completion, portal processes, follow-up plans, communication and documentation)
  • Completion of routine assessments of medication reviews and ensure all documentation is as per routine practice and provincial legislation
  • Clinical revenue generation and expenditures to ensure all staff are meeting performance targets; follow up with clinical team members as required to ensure ongoing accountability
  • Schedule and provide oversight of clinical initiatives including transition support, influenza education, and implementation of other programs and initiatives
  • Performs duties of a Clinical Consultant Pharmacist
  • Project management of initiatives implemented by clinical team (i.e. education, program and resource updates, Policy & Procedure review and refresh, etc.) and provide status updates to VP, Clinical Operations as required
  • Provides direction to organize assignments for the Clinical Team
  • Facilitate clinical and general business development opportunities for the organization
  • Ensures consistency of care is provided to meet staff, customer contract and resident needs
  • Operational framework, team and infrastructure needed to support the planning and delivery of programs and services
  • Maintains communication with Clinical Pharmacy team
  • Develops and revises goals, standards, and objectives for Clinical Team
  • Participates in strategic planning of Clinical Pharmacy operations
  • Oversees the recruitment of new employees including; opening requisitions, interviewing, and on-boarding
  • Facilitates the provision of resources and equipment to deliver resident care
  • Manages vacation and time off requests of clinical team
  • Accountable for performance of clinical team and clinical services provided to customers
  • Support in managing Clinical budget
  • Conduct and/or participate in customer business review meetings
  • Maintain and manage corporate customer relationships
  • Participate in clinical aspects of RFP presentations in pursuit of new customers
  • Oversee and facilitate the adoption of new clinical technology into practice
  • Participate in relevant Seniors based tradeshows and business development conferences/meetings
  • Understand provincial regulations, health authority requirements, and clinical billing legislation


Required Credentials

  • Registered Pharmacist or other allied health professional in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory authority (e.g., Ontario College of Pharmacistsin Ontario)
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent health professional degree
  • Eligibility to practice in the province(s) supported
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to client sites
  • Demonstrated proficiency with pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office Suite


Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of pharmacist/health care professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in:
    • Long-Term Care
    • Retirement Living
    • Continuing Care
    • Geriatric Pharmacy Practice

  • Minimum 2 years of people leadership experience, including:

    • Coaching and performance management
    • Recruitment and onboarding
    • Managing remote or geographically dispersed teams

  • Experience working with:

    • Medication management programs
    • Quality improvement initiatives
    • Regulatory compliance
    • Interdisciplinary care teams

Compensation Range: $120,000 to $130,000. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate's credentials and experience.

Location: Hybrid Position; Travel will be involved
