Clinical Science Liaison (REMOTE: USA)

JOB OVERVIEW:

The primary role of the Clinical Science Liaison (CSL) is to provide real-time clinical support and interpretation of results to Ambry's clients. CSLs remain up to date regarding Ambry's clinical offerings and technology and be subject matter experts for clients calling in to discuss testing results, ordering options, or technology across all of Ambry's product offerings. CSLs also work collaboratively with Medical Affairs colleagues and internal departments at Ambry to provide optimal client support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide real-time case-level clinical and technical support to providers calling into Ambry's main line or reaching out through Ambry Portal and liaise between clients, genomic science liaison (GSL), and laboratory (e.g. Reporting, Lab Directors, Genomic Sciences, and Accessioning).
  • Recognize and appropriately relay client feedback and trends that indicate areas for improvement such as process improvements, training needs, educational ideas, marketing needs, changes to test offerings, or overall improvement to the Ambry brand.
  • Provide backup clinical and technical support to providers, Account Executives (AE), and Account Specialists (AS) when the local GSL is unavailable.
  • Document client interactions in appropriate systems and update the local GSL and/or AE when appropriate.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all of Ambry's clinical offerings, including the differences and similarities between products, as well as the standard processes and policies.
  • Identify the need for and help develop resources for the CSL and GSL teams.
  • Other duties as assigned. This may include assisting with the creation of slide decks to be used in the field and/or providing pre-test education to patients.


EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Master's degree or higher in genetic counseling, human genetics, or other healthcare field
    • MS in genetic counseling preferred, board certification a plus
  • Must have a strong understanding of the current state of clinical genetic testing, the advantages and limitations of genetic testing, and a desire to educate community providers about the utility of clinical genetics
  • Must have strong communication and organizational skills, work very well independently, be able to collaborate and communicate with clients and internal team members


TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace
  • Basic knowledge of various lab techniques (i.e. NGS, Sanger sequencing, exome sequencing, etc)


EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 2 years' experience in a genetic testing laboratory or clinic site strongly preferred
