Full Job Description
Job Summary Directs the Children's Hospital and Health System, Inc. ("Children's) clinical risk management with the objective of controlling and minimizing losses and to protect the assets of the system. Identifies actual or potential risks, evaluates and assists in implementing corrective action or systems improvements to prevent injury to patients, visitors and employees and to support the provision of safe, quality patient services. Advises and educates system leadership, medical/dental and professional staff and all employees on clinical risk issues. - Bachelor's Degree in nursing required. - Additional graduate education in nursing, business/healthcare administration or law preferred. - 5+ years experience in the healthcare industry required. - Knowledge of process improvement practices pertaining to risk management in a healthcare setting (Six Sigma, LEAN, etc.). - Familiarity with hospital and clinical healthcare operations and knowledge of problems encountered in the delivery of healthcare. - Skilled in implementation strategies for system enhancement and improvement. - Requires independent judgment and the ability to work under minimal supervision, prioritize work and maintain a high level of confidentiality. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with various levels of hospital personnel, medical staff and leadership, patients and families and outside counsel and insurance consultants and vendors. - Knowledge of information systems and computer operations (including Windows, Excel, Origami, and other graphics programs) in a healthcare environment as well as data analysis skills. - Requires strong organizational and analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and organize time to meet projected target dates for project completion.
