OVERVIEW

The Clinical Resource Leader, Respiratory Therapy reports to the Director, Critical Care and Cardiology and is responsible for the professional practice and supervisory functions of the Respiratory Therapy Department. Working in close partnership with the Manager, the CRL supports the delivery of safe, high quality, consistent, and patient -centered respiratory therapy services across the organization.

The Clinical Resource Leader provides leadership for respiratory therapy practice, staff performance, education, and day-to-day operational support. This includes developing and maintaining practice standards, supporting staff to work to full scope, ensuring appropriate staffing and resource allocation, fostering strong interprofessional relationships, and contributing to quality improvement and service excellence. The role also supports recruitment, staff development, clinical externships, and organizational initiatives aligned with Michael Garron Hospital's mission, vision, values, and goals.

EDUCATION

- Undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, Health Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree with a focus on leadership and/or healthcare administration.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) required.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum of 5 years of recent related clinical experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- 2-3 years of recent supervisory or managerial experience in a unionized hospital environment preferred.
- Demonstrated progressive healthcare leadership experience.
- Demonstrated quality improvement and project management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and engage teams in the pursuit of best practice and quality care.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities in a complex clinical environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, creativity, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple demands effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling systems, payroll systems, and workload management tools.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency, including ATA, PowerChart, Microsoft Office applications, Teams, Outlook, and related systems.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and continued learning.
