Screens potential research participants to determine eligibility for clinical trials and studies. Provides detailed information about the study, including its purpose, procedures, risks, and benefits, to potential participants. Ensures that participants fully understand the informed consent document before they sign it, and clarifies any questions or concerns. Maintains accurate and complete records of the informed consent process, including signed consent forms and documentation of discussions. Coordinates or performs biospecimen collection and maintains HIPAA protected database connecting patient information to biospecimens used in research. Serves as the study-specific clinical point of contact for participants, investigators, research staff, hospital departments and external research partners. Maintains sensitivity to cost containment measures by conserving hospital supplies and human resources while overseeing proposed project budgets. Conducts research regarding patient screening and clinical eligibility assessments. Coordinates the care and follow-up of volunteers placed on research studies, trials, and programs. Provides ongoing support and information to participants throughout the duration of studies.
