Position SummaryThe Clinical Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the Bickle Centre portfolio, including Complex Continuing Care, Rehabilitation, Transitional Care, and the Dialysis Unit. As a key member of the Rehabilitation and Complex Continuing Care leadership team, the Clinical Director will help advance Bickle Centre's role as a leader in integrated, patient- and family-centred care. The role will work collaboratively across clinical and operational partners to support UHN's strategic priorities and advance excellence and innovation in care delivery. The successful candidate will be an energetic, strategic, and collaborative leader with a strong commitment to improving care and outcomes across the continuum.
Duties- Provide strategic leadership across multidisciplinary teams and partner with clinical, operational, medical, and professional practice leaders to advance patient care and program priorities.
- Lead the development and execution of strategic, program, operational, quality, and financial plans aligned with UHN priorities.
- Lead the effective stewardship of human, financial and physical resources to support high-quality patient care and service excellence.
- Monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement and lead actions to achieve quality, safety, patient and staff experience, operational and financial objectives.
- Cultivate a culture of accountability, engagement, inclusion, continuous improvement and innovation aligned with UHN values and leadership principles.
- Build and strengthen partnerships across UHN and with external and community organizations to advance integrated care and improve outcomes across the continuum.
- Lead strategic initiatives that advance patient flow, access, integrated capacity planning, care transitions, rehabilitation outcomes, and system partnerships.
- Provide strategic direction and informed decision making to advance program priorities and achieve strategic and operational objectives
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.
Qualifications- Baccalaureate degree and Master's degree required in Health Administration or a relevant Regulated Health Profession program or recognized equivalent.
- Current certificate of competency from a recognized Professional Health Disciplines College.
- Minimum eight (8) years related program/service experience, including at least six (6) years working in a senior leadership role within a healthcare environment.
- Membership in relevant professional or specialty associations is required.
- Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining practice and quality measures in the clinical environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to advance patient care and program priorities.
- Experience managing complex operating budgets and financial resources.
- Experience leading strategic and operational change initiatives.
- Rehabilitation, Complex Continuing Care, post-acute care or acute care experience preferred.
- Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to resolve complex patient issues.
- Embraces and practices a positive leadership approach, consistent with UHN Leadership Principles.
- Exercises initiative and excellent judgment with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient experience, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated use of data, digital health tools, analytics, access/flow metrics, outcomes and quality indication to drive improvement.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and culturally safe care.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, valuing different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences.
