Full Job Description
Wood is seeking a Client Engagement Lead to drive growth across its Americas Vibration, Dynamics, and Noise (VDN) team within the Asset Health service line. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, originating and converting opportunities, and delivering integrated technical solutions across energy and adjacent sectors.

As Wood VDN, formerly BETA Machinery Analysis does significant amount of work in the pulsation and vibration space associated with reciprocating compressors the ideal candidate will have an understanding of rotating machinery, packaging, pulsation and vibration analysis (i.e. API 618, API 688, API 11P, etc.).

The successful candidate will work closely with clients and internal subject matter experts to position Wood as a trusted advisor, ensuring the successful delivery of high-value, multi-disciplinary projects. This role requires a balance of commercial leadership, technical understanding, and the ability to lead teams to achieve both client and business outcomes.

This is a full-time, office-based role located in Houston, TX area. At times there may be a need for up to 50% travel.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities:
  • Identifying and developing opportunities from the base business
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities collaboratively with other leaders in our business
  • Champion transformative or multi-disciplinary projects, that involve combinations of VDN's service lines
  • Lead and advise others internally, based on your experience, that are engaged in sales activities with our clients.
  • Work closely with clients and be responsible for ensuring the end-to-end success of all projects and the team's performance
  • Develop tailor-made solutions and work closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and objectives
  • Identify and engage with potential customers to understand their needs and requirements
  • Work with our technical experts and consult with clients, demonstrating how the services will provide the value they need
  • Conduct presentations to showcase the value of our expertise
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to foster loyalty and trust
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with customers, ensuring win-win outcomes for both parties
  • Prepare and submit proposals, quotes, and bids in response to customer inquiries
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales pipeline
  • Provide post-sales support to customers, helping to address any technical inquiries or issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with the technical and operations teams to ensure alignment of sales efforts with company objectives.
  • Provide sales forecasts and regular performance reports to management.
  • Stay updated with advancements in technology and industry developments to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to identify new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate VDN exhibits at select trade shows.
  • Up to 50% travel at time to meet clients, attend trade shows, or participate in industry events

Expected:

  • Previously supported clients across the Americas region
  • Experience working for a consultancy organization and managing multiple technical delivery teams, focused on revenue and profit growth
  • Commercially astute, a savvy negotiator and mediator
  • Ability to take initiative, break new ground, create opportunities for others
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
