Overview

Your role


  • Perform engineering assessments using MathCAD and FEA tools (e.g., Pipe Stress, GTSTRUDL, ANSYS).
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and permit requirements.
  • Develop designs across all stages (conceptual, preliminary, and detailed) and prepare technical specifications.
  • Deliver engineering outputs on time and within budget, including estimates and proposal write-ups.
  • Review, verify, and ensure quality and accuracy of engineering work in line with QA programs.
  • Support team effectiveness through mentoring junior staff, collaborating with stakeholders, and participating in reviews and site walkdowns.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 5–10 years of relevant design/analysis experience in nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy industries.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Ontario is preferred, with knowledge of nuclear codes/standards (e.g., TSSA, ASME, N285.0).
  • Experience with MathCAD and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, GTSTRUDL, Pipe Stress) for engineering analysis.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical/process systems, piping, pressure boundary work, and structural assessments (anchors, base plates, supports).
  • Site experience including plant walkdowns, with ability to work under tight schedules and budgets.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills, with willingness to qualify as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).
