Job DescriptionThe Civil Engineering Director serves as the senior engineering advisor responsible for providing technical expertise supporting infrastructure planning, capital investment programs, real property management, project prioritization, facilities management, and construction oversight across mission-critical assets.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert civil engineering guidance for infrastructure programs and projects.
- Support facility planning, construction management, and capital improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate facility conditions, lifecycle costs, maintenance requirements, and infrastructure risks.
- Provide technical input for project prioritization and investment decisions.
- Support engineering compliance reviews and policy development.
- Advise leadership on infrastructure modernization strategies.
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and government stakeholders.
- Support real property accountability and asset management initiatives.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements- BS in Civil Engineering and 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship required.
- Minimum 10 years of civil engineering, facilities management, infrastructure planning, construction management, or real property experience.
- Experience supporting DHS, DoD, or large federal infrastructure portfolios, with experience Real Property and/or infrastructure management within DHS or DoD.
- Demonstrated experience in capital project planning and execution.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- PMP Certification preferred.
