Full Job Description
Position Overview

The client is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to support and supervise civil, building, architectural, MEP, and low-voltage electrical activities at the Adelanto site. This is not a design-office role. The selected candidate will be working onsite in the field, supervising construction execution and ensuring work is progressing according to quality, schedule, and project expectations. The execution work will be performed by a project partner/contractor. The client needs this person to act as the onsite civil representative overseeing the work, tracking progress, monitoring quality, coordinating with stakeholders, and creating punch lists.

Civil Works
Supervise all civil construction activities, including excavation, grading, foundations, concrete works, underground services, and site development.
Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality control activities.
Identify and resolve site issues to minimize delays and rework.

Building Works
Oversee architectural works, including walls, doors, finishes, flooring, ceilings, fireproofing, and other building components.

MEP works
Coordinate HVAC installation activities, including ductwork, equipment installation, insulation, and testing requirements.
Supervise plumbing works, including piping systems, fixtures, drainage, and associated services.
Supervise low voltage electrical work

Qualification:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering,
Minimum 5 years of construction supervision experience.
Strong knowledge of civil, architectural, HVAC, and plumbing construction practices.
General understanding of electrical systems and multidisciplinary coordination.
Knowledge of construction safety regulations and quality requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Top 3 Must-Haves
1. Industrial Building Experience
The candidate must have experience with building works, building services, architectural elements, and ideally industrial building projects.
This is the most important requirement because building works are more specialized than general civil/concrete activities.

2. Prior Industrial Project / Field Construction Experience
The candidate should have previous experience working on industrial construction projects in the field.
The role is onsite, hands-on, and field-facing. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and supervising construction activities directly at the project site.

3. Team Player / Strong Stakeholder Management
This is a "one-person show" from the civil engineering side, so the candidate must be able to work well with multiple stakeholders.
They need to be collaborative, proactive, and able to coordinate effectively with the execution partner, project team, site team, and other internal/external stakeholders.

Preferred Industry Background

1. HVDC / Power Transmission / Energy Infrastructure
The top preferred industry is HVDC or similar energy infrastructure environments.
Candidates with experience in HVDC converter stations, substations, power transmission projects, or similar large energy infrastructure projects would be highly relevant.

2. Industrial Construction
The second preferred industry is broader industrial construction.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
Industrial facilities
Power / energy construction
Manufacturing sites
Large-scale infrastructure
Heavy industrial projects
Industrial buildings
Utility-related construction

The ideal candidate does not necessarily need to come directly from the client's industry, but experience in industrial field construction is important.

The candidate should have at least:
5+ years of construction supervision experience
Civil engineering background
Experience working onsite in field construction environments
Experience on industrial projects
Strong building works / industrial building experience
Strong understanding of architecture and MEP
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Ability to work with AFC plans
Strong safety and regulatory awareness

Notes:
Fully onsite / field-based
