Full Job Description
Primoris Pipeline & Engineering is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Field Engineer with experience in grading and site development to support the execution of site development projects. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing grading plans, drainage studies, utility layouts, and construction documents for a commercial industrial development project.

Job Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret design grading, drainage, paving, and utility plans for site development projects.
  • Perform site layout and earthwork analysis, including cut/fill balancing and stormwater management calculations.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors and other consultants.
  • Set realistic expectations and ensure assigned tasks are completed according to schedule.
  • Adhere to company quality standards and follow engineering checking and approval procedures.
  • Comply with all company and client health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) standards as well as federal and local HSSE regulations.
  • Actively participate in company and client hazard identification and observation programs, and immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or incidents to your supervisor.
  • Interact with civil drafting/design group to develop and review construction drawings.
  • Work onsite at Hubbard, TX project site up to 75% to evaluate site, project requirements, and conditions.
  • Perform checking of construction drawings.
  • Adhere to safe work practices.
  • Manage workload, requesting assistance as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required, Civil Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Civil grading and site development experience.
  • Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
  • Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions and request clarification as necessary.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented construction environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.

Desired Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to those holding a Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Experience with drainage and hydrology software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Hydraflow, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of stormwater regulations, erosion control, and permitting processes.
  • Strong understanding of grading design, utility coordination, and roadway geometry.
