Full Job Description
About the Role

We're hiring our first Chief of Staff to operate as the CEO's primary partner in strategic planning and execution. The role is strategic and operational: owning Centari's operating cadence, KPI infrastructure, and financial planning, and working alongside the CEO on strategic projects like fundraising and partnerships.

You'll work across every function at Centari - Product, Engineering, Account Management, Sales, and Applied Legal Research - driving the initiatives that don't have clean owners and holding leaders to a shared bar. You'll see how the entire company operates and sit close to the decisions that shape its trajectory. The role demands the professionalism and judgment of someone trusted with the full picture: financials, hiring decisions, board dynamics, customer relationships, founder thinking.

Candidates should have experience in investment banking and private equity. Startup experience is a plus. The role is in-office in NYC, full-time.

Core Responsibilities
  • Partner with the CEO on strategy execution: translating priorities into action, owning the highest-impact initiatives end-to-end, and supporting senior hires through close.
  • Own financial planning: burn, runway scenarios, unit economics, and capital allocation.
  • Run the operating cadence (leadership meetings, OKR reviews, weekly all-hands) and the rhythms that hold each function accountable to a shared bar.
  • Build and own the company's KPI dashboard covering revenue, pipeline, product engagement, customer health, hiring, and runway. Use it to trigger accountability conversations across the team.
  • Partner with the CEO on fundraising activities: investor CRM, data room, diligence, scheduling, and follow-ups.
  • Own ongoing investor relations operations between rounds, including reporting cadence and board prep.
  • Drive cross-functional execution on initiatives without a clean owner. Design the cadence, hold the tracker, push function leaders.
  • Manage external resources and vendors (agencies, contractors, fractionals, tooling) with real procurement processes: negotiation, alternatives evaluated, contract terms reviewed.
Requirements
  • 4+ years in investment banking and/or private equity.
  • Demonstrated record of owning projects end-to-end in ambiguous environments. Specific examples of work you drove from initiation to measurable outcome, where the path wasn't clear at the start.
  • Strong financial fluency: comfortable building and stress-testing models, engaging substantively on burn, runway, unit economics, and capital allocation.
  • Strong written communication for executive-level audiences externally.
  • Prior operations and strategic finance experience at a Series A/B startup is a plus.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a high-growth startup.
  • Comprehensive health benefits (Centari covering 100% of employee premiums).
  • Dental and Vision (Centari covering 75% of employee premiums).
  • 401(k) match up to 4%.
  • In-office in NYC, with lunch covered.
  • Flexible PTO.
