The Chief of Staff in the office of the CEO is a strategic and operational leader who bridges engineering leadership, finance, HR, and cross-functional teams to drive clarity, discipline, and momentum. This position combines strategic planning with hands-on execution and serves as an operational bridge to Trust & Infrastructure teams.

The Experience:

Engineering Operations & Rhythm of Business
  • Drive the operating cadence (staff meetings, quarterly planning, all-hands, and leadership events like EM/IC Summits).
  • Track commitments, set agendas, and partner with Finance on budget management and headcount planning.
  • Translate Trust & Infrastructure roadmap priorities into org-wide planning, resourcing, and leadership visibility.

Headcount & Hiring Operations
  • Oversee headcount monitoring, position approvals, backfills, sign-on bonuses, and location strategy.
  • Partner with Recruiting and HR to unblock hiring and support hiring managers.

Planning & Budget Operations
  • Lead quarterly/annual planning, variance analysis, RLOAs, and org-level metrics reporting.
  • Drive operational efficiency through process improvements and AI-powered productivity tools.

Communications & Culture
  • Manage engineering communications, announcement channels, promotions, and all-hands messaging.
  • Support culture initiatives, intern programs, and the Engineering Blog.

You're Our Person If:

  • 14+ years in business operations, strategy, finance, or related field (preferably in high-growth tech).
  • Proven success as a partner to senior technical leadership; experience with Trust/Infrastructure/Platform teams is a plus.
  • Strong financial acumen (budgeting, headcount planning, variance analysis) and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Even Better If:

  • Prior Engineering Business Operations or Chief of Staff experience.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Workday, Tableau, and AI productivity tools.
