Job Description

We are looking for a Chief Engineer at Valdoro Lodge in Breckendridge, Colorado. The Chief Engineer advises and controls the Engineering operations within the resort, which includes the daily supervision of mechanical, structural, electrical, and other-related maintenance systems. In this position you will work with the Resort Leadership Team to develop maintenance programs; engage team members; maintain accurate budget; and find opportunities that better equip the organization to achieve its established annual business goals.

Compensation: $82,000- $90,000+ 10% annual bonus potential.

Responsibilities

What will I do as a Chief Engineer?
• Lead and mentor a team of Technicians.
• Coordinate property repairs and capital projects.
• Support team growth and career development.
• Drive key Engineering initiatives aligned with Resort Operations.
• Maintain up-to-date Emergency Preparedness and Safety Plans.
• Manage inventory and purchasing procedures.
• Lead all aspects of vendor relationships, contracts, and compliance ensure business needs and financial responsibilities are handled in a timely manner
• Support other departmental tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?
• High school graduate or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as operation needs dictate.
• 3-5+Years of engineering experience in hotels or related industry.
• 3-5+Years of managerial in the same or similar environment
• CPO Certification strongly preferred (if does not currently have, must be willing to get within 30 days)
• EPA Certification preferred
• OSHA 10 Certification preferred
• Project management experience.
• Ability to write and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions to engineering staff.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
