Summary:

The Chief Information Officer will be responsible for defining and executing Archwell Capital's technology strategy, ensuring that technology investments, infrastructure, applications, data capabilities, and technology operations effectively support the organization's business objectives. In addition to traditional CIO responsibilities, this executive will establish an enterprise technology governance framework across the family of companies, creating appropriate standards, visibility, accountability, and coordination while recognizing the differing operating requirements of individual businesses.

The CIO will serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and will partner closely with business and technology leaders across the organization to ensure technology capabilities are secure, resilient, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with long-term business priorities.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Technology Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with Archwell Capital's business objectives and long-term priorities.
  • Serve as the senior technology advisor to executive leadership on technology strategy, investments, emerging technologies, digital capabilities, and technology-related business opportunities and risks.
  • Establish technology priorities, roadmaps, operating models, and investment plans.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, automation, cloud platforms, data technologies, and other capabilities that may improve business performance.
  • Ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value and appropriate returns.

Technology Operations
  • Oversee enterprise technology infrastructure, cloud environments, networks, end-user technology, applications, platforms, telecommunications, and IT service delivery.
  • Establish high standards for availability, performance, resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Develop and maintain effective IT service management, support, change management, and technology asset management capabilities.
  • Ensure technology environments can scale appropriately as the organization and family of companies evolve.

Applications, Data & Digital Capabilities
  • Provide strategic oversight of enterprise applications, platforms, integration architecture, and data capabilities.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve productivity through technology.
  • Establish appropriate technology architecture and integration standards.
  • Advance responsible adoption of AI, automation, analytics, and other emerging technologies.

Family of Companies Governance & Oversight
  • Establish and lead a technology governance framework across Archwell Capital's family of companies.
  • Develop minimum enterprise technology standards, policies, architecture principles, and operating expectations while allowing appropriate flexibility for individual businesses.
  • Maintain visibility into significant technology environments, investments, vendors, risks, capabilities, and initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Establish mechanisms for technology leaders across the family of companies to report key metrics, risks, investments, incidents, and strategic initiatives.
  • Review significant technology investments and transformation initiatives and provide appropriate governance and challenge.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage shared platforms, enterprise agreements, common capabilities, preferred vendors, and centers of excellence where doing so creates value.
  • Assess technology capabilities and risks associated with acquisitions, new investments, integrations, and divestitures.
  • Develop productive relationships with CIOs, CTOs, and technology leaders throughout the family of companies.

Financial & Vendor Management
  • Develop and manage technology budgets, forecasts, and investment portfolios.
  • Establish processes for evaluating technology investments based on business value, cost, risk, and strategic alignment.
  • Oversee strategic technology vendors and major commercial relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for enterprise purchasing leverage and vendor consolidation across the family of companies.

Leadership
  • Build and lead a high-performing technology organization.
  • Establish clear accountability, performance expectations, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Develop strong partnerships with business leaders and functional executives.
  • Foster a culture of service, innovation, disciplined execution, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position has direct reports. Manages staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to establish enterprise standards and governance without unnecessarily centralizing business operations.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience managing significant technology budgets and vendor relationships.


Education and/or Experience:
  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including significant executive-level responsibility.
  • Prior experience as a CIO, CTO, divisional CIO, or senior technology executive within a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing enterprise technology strategies.
  • Experience overseeing infrastructure, cloud, enterprise applications, data, technology operations, vendor management, and major transformation initiatives.
  • Experience operating within a holding company, investment organization, multi-company enterprise, highly decentralized organization, or similarly complex environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with M&A technology diligence and integration preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
