Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Chief Hardware Engineer.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $130000 - $190000 a year.

What you'll do:
Eaton is seeking a Chief Hardware Engineer to be based at the Franksville, WI Thomas A. Edison Technical Center site. This role offers a flexible hybrid schedule (3 days in-office/2 days remote) with relocation support available within the US/PR.
As a Chief Hardware Engineer, you will be part of an agile team who develop intelligent embedded electronic devices for high performance, real-time controls and protective relays used for smart grid applications in the electrical power distribution industry. You will collaborate with a multi-discipline engineering team (software, hardware, and test), distributed around the world, to define requirements between hardware and software subsystems. Up to 10% travel.
What you'll do:
• Own end-to-end electronic hardware architecture, design, and verification for embedded products (examples are digital, analog, power, high speed interfaces, microcontrollers/microprocessors, PMICs, sensors, comms, etc.), from requirements through validation and production release.
• Lead hardware requirements flow down, design tradeoffs, derating, simulation/analysis, design reviews and DfX (DFM/DFA/DFT).
• Champion product compliance/readiness for utility environments.
• Collaborate with firmware & software Systems, Marketing, Test, Manufacturing/Quality, Product and Supply Chain teams to ensure platform reuse, manufacturability, and robust V&V plans across the lifecycle.
• Help manage testing programs for board bring up and design verification. Ensure that proper test plans, protocols, and test criteria are established and documented.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations during new product development and throughout the product lifecycle.
• Mentor/lead hardware engineering team, guide technical reviews and coaching plans.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of ten years of engineering experience
• Minimum of six years of experience in electronic design or developing embedded communication or control devices

Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters degree in engineering is preferred
• Experience developing control algorithms, experience developing signal processing algorithms
• Experience with embedded hardware electronic peripherals
• Familiarity with Altium Designer or similar ECAD software, signal integrity tools, and simulation platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile development, DFSS, PPAP
• Knowledge of power systems, switchgear and regulator controls products/applications is an added advantage
• Knowledge in manufacturing and product test process.
