Summary:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for creating a culture that fosters staff self-development and continued learning; directs overall day-to-day operations of designated areas; provides direction of allocation of department resources; provides strategic planning and direction for meeting DHR goals and objectives in the following areas: Facilities, Safety & Security, Biomedical Services, Environmental Services, Nutritional Services, Emergency Management, and Valet Services.

In addition, provides system leadership for regulatory compliance regarding Joint Commission, CMS TDSHS, and other AHJ impacting hospital licensure. Organizes audits compliance with regulatory Environment of Care and develops/recommends budgets and staffing needs to ensure continuous compliance for all things 'Physical Environment.'

In addition, participates in strategic planning and master facility planning with the Executive team and assists with forming, interpreting, and implementing policy; institutes actions or activities to facilitate accountability and management of divisional leadership staff. The position collaborates with fellow executive team members of DHR, medical staff, and the community.

POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Some evening or weekend work will be required
• Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 - 10 years job related experience.
  • Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years' experience in position(s) of increasing responsibility in facilities management or in a related field, including three to five (5) years in management.
  • Experience in planning and process improvement for facilities
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships across organizational boundaries to produce effective outcomes

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.

C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
