Job Summary

You lead with precision, care, and foresight-ensuring that our hotel operates smoothly, safely, and sustainably. From preventative maintenance to emergency repairs, your work powers the guest experience behind the scenes. You don't just maintain a building-you protect a promise of comfort, quality, and care.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Engineering team with a hands-on approach, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety.
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs that ensure equipment reliability and guest satisfaction.
• Collaborate with department heads to support operational needs and respond swiftly to maintenance requests.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to building codes, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Manage energy conservation programs and sustainability initiatives that align with company goals.
• Coordinate vendor relationships, contracts, and capital improvement projects with attention to timelines and budgets.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and compliance documentation, ensuring readiness for inspections and audits.
• Respond to and lead the resolution of emergency situations such as power outages, plumbing leaks, and weather-related issues.
• Serve as the property's safety ambassador-leading safety committee meetings, emergency preparedness, and training efforts.

Who You Are
• A proactive problem-solver who takes pride in every detail and acts with urgency when needed.
• Experienced in hotel engineering or facilities management, with a strong understanding of building systems and safety protocols.
• A licensed or certified professional (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, EPA, CPO), with deep technical knowledge across multiple disciplines.
• Skilled in leadership, able to coach, train, and motivate a team with clarity and consistency.
• Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Experienced in managing capital improvement projects, vendor contracts, and preventative maintenance planning.
• Familiar with OSHA, ADA, fire codes, building codes, and other local, state, and federal regulatory compliance standards.
• Adept at budgeting, forecasting, and tracking departmental spend with financial accountability.
• Calm under pressure, with excellent judgment and a commitment to guest and team safety.
• Technically adept and always looking for ways to improve system performance and reduce downtime.
• A strong communicator who can collaborate across departments and present technical information clearly.
• Resourceful, self-motivated, and dedicated to delivering a seamless guest experience-without ever stepping into the spotlight.
