Full Job Description
Chief Engineer capable of leading the engineering design and analysis work supporting the Advanced Energy Solutions Business Unit onsite at either our Oak Ridge, TN Office or Idaho Falls, ID Office.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating the BGS Nuclear Solutions engineering team.
  • Drafting reports and recommendations to company management.
  • Oversight of Professional Engineer deliverable stamping for state requirements.
  • Ensure company understanding of customer engineering and drafting standards.
  • Develop strategy for engineering software and hardware for design and analysis.
  • Develop strategy for the individual contributor skill mix within the engineering group.
  • Provides support to proposals and projects via industry experience, technical reviews, and code reviews, as needed.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering plus active certification in an engineering professional organization.
  • More than 15 years' experience in the nuclear industry, including commercial nuclear, Department of Defense, and Department of Energy support.
  • Must have experience leading teams of individuals from a variety of different backgrounds and disciplines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of engineering design and analysis
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and communicating with engineering teams, business managers, and clients.
  • Understanding of project management tools including schedules, Earned Value Management, Cost to Complete, and project budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and own engineering procedures, engineering manuals, and engineering workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing engineering requirements, engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, reports, code interpretations).
  • Must be a United State Citizen.
  • Successful drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
  • Must be able to spend long hours standing, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds.


Location/Work Arrangement:
  • Primary work locations will be the Oak Ridge, TN and Idaho Falls, ID offices.
  • Full-time, exempt position based on a 40-hour work week.
