Essential Job Functions

The Chief Data and Technology Officer (CDTO) is responsible for advancing Eskaton's enterprise digital, data, artificial intelligence (AI), integration, innovation and technology-enabled transformation agenda. Reporting to the President & CEO and serving on the Senior Team, this leader connects strategy, people, operations, experience, data and technology to simplify how Eskaton works, strengthen resident and team member experiences, improve decision-making and build a scalable foundation for future growth.

The CDTO leads with a human-centered design mindset and embeds Eskaton's core values-Welcoming, Bring (Y)our Best, Empowerment and Growth-into how priorities are set, decisions are made and change is led. Digital Experience & Human-Centered Design

  • Develop the multiyear digital roadmap and human-centered design standards; engage residents, team members and operational leaders in co-design, pilots and testing.


Enterprise Data, Analytics & Responsible AI

  • Establish enterprise data governance, ownership, quality, privacy, architecture and common definitions; advance reliable dashboards, analytics and predictive insights.
  • Govern responsible AI use cases that reduce administrative burden and improve service, quality and productivity, with clear guardrails for oversight, privacy, security, ethics, accuracy and vendor risk.


Integration, Interoperability & Enterprise Architecture

  • Create the enterprise integration roadmap and standards across resident, clinical, workforce, financial, operational, sales and communication platforms.
  • Reduce fragmented systems, duplicate entry and reconciliation; establish scalable platform, interface, vendor, lifecycle and due-diligence playbooks for growth.


Innovation & Emerging Capabilities

  • Lead a disciplined innovation pipeline to identify, test, measure and scale practical technologies that strengthen wellbeing, health span, connection, independence, learning, engagement and workforce effectiveness.


Enterprise Transformation, Change Management & Adoption

  • Lead transformation as an organizational change discipline, creating welcoming and psychologically safe engagement; defining clear outcomes, decision rights and ownership; empowering leaders and teams with information, authority, training and support; and reinforcing accountability, feedback, adoption and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a transparent portfolio of priorities, dependencies, risks, decisions, adoption measures and realized benefits; hold leaders and vendors accountable for outcomes.


Technology Strategy, Operations & Stewardship

  • Provide executive leadership for technology strategy, investments, platforms, infrastructure, cybersecurity, privacy, continuity, support services, vendor performance and value realization.


Growth Enablement & Enterprise Leadership

  • Ensure digital, data, AI, integration and technology strategy supports master planning, service models, management services, affiliations, acquisitions and future communities; assess readiness and investment early.
  • Partner with the President & CEO and Senior Team to sequence the transformation agenda and present priorities, investments, risks and progress to executive leadership and the Board.

Starting annual salary ranges from $250,000 to $355,000. Factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, job-related skills, internal equity, and market considerations may influence base pay.

Experience, Qualifications, Key Success Measures, & Other Requirements

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Significant progressive leadership across digital strategy, enterprise technology, data/analytics, integration, innovation, experience design and organizational transformation, with demonstrated cross-functional implementation, adoption and benefit realization.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance, analytics, integration and responsible AI; senior living, healthcare, hospitality, human services or another complex multi-site service environment preferred.
  • Strong business and financial acumen; experience evaluating investments, vendors, operating models, risk and strategic tradeoffs and presenting decision-quality recommendations to executives and Boards; demonstrated alignment with Eskaton's values and a high-performance culture balancing excellence, accountability, empowerment, learning and stakeholder impact.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree or equivalent executive experience preferred.

This is not a traditional information technology leadership position.
