Job Title: Certified Manufacturing Project Manager - Equipment & Facility Projects

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Location: San Marcos, Texas

About this role

There is an excellent opportunity to drive operational execution and milestone delivery within our manufacturing facility. We are seeking a dedicated, execution-focused Manufacturing Project Manager to orchestrate the lifecycle of industrial installation, equipment fabrication, and commissioning projects. This role focuses strictly on professional project managemen ensuring timelines are met, budgets are tracked, and cross-functional teams are aligned to support capital deployment. Rather than acting as a technical designer or a lead manager for specific trades, the project manager serves as the strategic conductor of the project. This individual will manage schedules, track resources, and remove roadblocks while collaborating closely with experienced, independent leads across mechanical, electrical, piping, and fabrication
domains.

What We Have To Offer:
  • Competitive Base
  • Medical/Dental/Vision insurance on day 1 of employment
  • Health Saving Account (HSA) with Employer contribution
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • 401(k) retirement plan and match program
  • Long Term Disability (Employer Paid)
  • Short Term Disability (Employer Paid)
  • Paid Time Off (eligible after 90 days of employment)
  • Sick Leave
  • Company Paid Holidays

What You'll Be Doing:

Core Project Management & Milestone Execution
• Schedule & Track Progress: Utilize project management tools to develop, monitor, and update baseline schedules, ensuring project milestones stay on the critical path.
• Cross-Functional Orchestration: Facilitate daily or weekly alignment meetings with independent mechanical, electrical, piping, and fabrication leads to synchronizing timelines, managing dependencies, and eliminating operational bottlenecks.
• Risk Tracking & Reporting: Proactively identify project delays, resource constraints, or material shortages, escalating risks early and maintaining accurate progress reports for plant leadership.
• Budget & Resource Stewardship: Monitor project expenditures (CapEx/OpEx) against the approved budget, managing cash flow timelines and tracking project cost variances.
Procurement & BOM Management
• BOM Ownership: Take full ownership of tracking the project Bill of Materials (BOM), monitoring lead times and verifying procurement status to prevent field delays.
• Sourcing & Logistics Coordination: Coordinate closely with procurement and vendors to ensure raw materials, structural steel, piping components, and industrial hardware arrive on site in alignment with the master schedule.
• Material Inventory Control: Monitor material arrivals against packing lists, track quality compliance upon delivery, and ensure on-site staging supports the installation timeline.
Collaborative Interface with Discipline Leads
• Mechanical & Fabrication Interface: Coordinate project timelines and delivery dates with the experienced Mechanical and Fabrication Leads, ensuring shop fabrication and equipment rigging align with the broader facility schedule.
• Piping Integration: Interface with the Piping Lead to track installation progress, ensure material availability, and map out testing windows.
• Electrical Integration: Coordinate utility requirements and timeline expectations with a Master Electrician and their specialized crew, relying on their technical expertise for execution and code compliance.

Drawing Interpretation, Software Literacy, & Commissioning Support
• Blueprint & Design Literacy: Read and accurately interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), fabrication blueprints, and basic schematics to understand project scope and track field progress.
• Engineering Software Utilization: Leverage working knowledge of Solidworks and AutoCAD to review design files, verify dimensions, extract details for BOM verification, and cross-reference field installations with engineering models.
• Pre-Commissioning Support: Coordinate the schedule for site acceptance testing (SAT) and component-level checkout sequences, ensuring all independent leads have completed their scope prior to final equipment startup.

We are looking for someone who:
• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in project management, Business Operations, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent hands-on industrial project coordination experience.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience managing or coordinating projects within a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial construction environment.
• Project Management Focus: Proven track record of managing project schedules, tracking budgets, and coordinating Bill of Materials (BOM) procurement. PMP required
• Software Proficiency: Practical, hands-on knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD for design review and file navigation, alongside standard project management and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, or Smartsheet).
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with independent, highly experienced technical leads (Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, Fabrication) who do not have a direct reporting relationship to the project manager.
• Blueprint Reading: Strong proficiency in reading and translating mechanical drawing

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 15 pounds at times.
