The Central Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Team Manager, leads a central team responsible for reducing operational risk and improving the reliability of live operations. This role manages a multidisciplinary group of engineers and program/governance leads and is accountable for driving disciplined engineering execution across incident response, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and operational improvement initiatives.
This leader serves as the primary escalation point for complex operational and technical issues and works closely with Site Operations, Design & Construction, Commissioning, Reliability Engineering, and regional teams to turn strategy into measurable results.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and Develop the CORE Team- Lead the Central Operations Resilience and Engineering team, including engineers and program/governance leads.
- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.
- Set clear expectations, assign accountability, and manage performance.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for operational and technical issues that impact live operations.
Reduce Operational Risk and Improve Reliability- Apply disciplined engineering practices to incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
- Ensure repeat events and systemic gaps are identified and eliminated.
- Drive consistent problem-solving standards and decision quality across the team.
Drive Continuous Improvement- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational processes, tools, and outcomes.
- Use data, trends, and lessons learned from events to prioritize improvements with the highest risk reduction value.
- Standardize approaches and improve consistency across sites and regions.
Deliver Operational Engineering Work- Own and manage a defined portfolio of operational engineering initiatives that support live operations.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute work with clear scope, milestones, and deliverables.
- Track progress and outcomes ensuring commitments are met.
Enable Cross-Functional Execution- Partner closely with Site Operations, Design & Construction, Commissioning, Reliability Engineering, and regional teams.
- Translate strategic direction into executable plans and measurable results.
- Break down cross-functional barriers and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
Experience/EducationRequired- B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or other related technical field) or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years of experience in mission critical industry with at least 4 years as a manager of a technical team supporting live, mission-critical operations.
- Strong background in incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
- Proven ability to manage complex work portfolios with clear accountability and results.
- Strong collaboration skills across technical and operational teams.
Preferred- Experience in data center operations, critical facilities, or other high-reliability environments.
- Experience managing both technical contributors and program/governance-focused roles.
- Demonstrated success driving operational risk reduction and reliability improvements at scale.
