What You Will Do

Join Ascension Texas Cardiovascular as an Inpatient Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA) at Dell Seton Medical Center UT in Austin, TX. Partnering directly with an experienced cardiology team, you will manage cardiology patients during hospital stays-delivering specialized inpatient care, optimizing treatment plans, and driving seamless care coordination to reduce readmissions. If you thrive in an acute hospital setting and are passionate about high-impact cardiac care, elevate your career with our dedicated team.

  • Join an established team of 8 physicians and 2 APPs
  • Weekend coverage: 1/7 including holidays
  • Practice setting: inpatient
  • Employed position within a nonprofit health system
  • Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration
  • Lead acute cardiac evaluations and daily floor rounds to manage complex conditions such as heart failure, CAD, and dysrhythmias.
  • Execute dynamic, evidence-based treatment strategies and ordering targeted diagnostic workups in close collaboration with attending cardiologists.
  • Coordinate seamless hospital transitions, guiding multidisciplinary discharge planning and cardiac rehabilitation referrals to minimize 30-day readmissions and foster long-term recovery.
  • Guide patients and families through acute cardiac events, providing compassionate education on diagnosis, post-procedure recovery, lifestyle modifications, and medication compliance.
  • Document clinical encounters in real time, ensuring comprehensive, high-quality medical records that facilitate clear communication across the entire inpatient care team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Education:
  • Master's degree of Nursing required.


Additional Preferences

2 plus years of cardiology experience

Acute Care certification for all APRN applicants
