Job Description

The Capital Planning Manager is responsible for managing the system-wide capital planning and governance process from initial request through final approval. The role collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and maintain replacement schedules, inform annual capital allocations and long range cashflow projections, and support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and reporting. The Capital Planning manager facilitates the capital governance processes, including committee agenda management and prioritization frameworks, while clearly communicating requirements across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the Atlantic Health system-wide capital planning process from request intake through capital allocation approvals through project completion.
  • Maintain capital request approval workflows.
  • Manage capital reporting from capital allocation to capital commitment to tracking spend against approved capital approved projects.
  • Manage the agenda and material preparation for the system capital allocation committee. Ensure completeness of each capital request package as designated by the request type.
  • Partner with key stakeholders including Information Services and Support (ISS), Facilities, Clinical Engineering and Finance leadership to develop and maintain replacement capital schedules according to clear timelines.
  • Collaborate with capital planning stakeholders including hospital foundations to evaluate funding strategies for major projects.
  • Support the capital budgeting and long-range planning process by outlining long range cash flow impacts.
  • Maintain all related capital request policy and process documentation.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of business processes, data sets and knowledge of operations to develop capital prioritization matrices.
  • Clearly communicate the capital process and assessment requirements to all relevant stakeholders
  • Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related field. Master's preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of work experience in healthcare administration, sourcing, supply chain, operations management, or finance.
  • Strong communication and project management skill sets required.
  • Provide excellent customer service for stakeholders with a strong attention to detail, effective organizational and interpersonal skills, and demonstrating good judgement
  • Self-motivation with initiative to act independently while maintaining communication open across project teams as necessary
