Job Description:

Our client is seeking a finance professional to join its Capital Markets team and support day-to-day balance sheet and market activities. This individual will monitor fixed-income markets, assist with financial and market analysis, support transaction execution and related operational processes, and collaborate with teams across the organization.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with a background in banking, investments, treasury, or financial markets who wants to deepen their exposure to capital markets and asset/liability management.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor fixed-income markets and evaluate trends, pricing movements, and developments that may impact the organization's balance sheet and capital markets activities.
  • Conduct financial, market, and portfolio analysis to support funding, investment, and balance sheet decisions.
  • Prepare both recurring and ad hoc analyses and communicate key findings and recommendations to Capital Markets leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Support the execution and processing of transactions across areas such as debt, derivatives, mortgage-backed securities, Treasury securities, repurchase agreements, and federal funds.
  • Execute transactions within established risk parameters and in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Assist with evaluating investment and funding opportunities using financial models and analytical tools.
  • Develop an understanding of the organization's interest-rate, liquidity, and broader market-risk framework and apply that knowledge to day-to-day activities.
  • Identify emerging market developments, risks, and opportunities and proactively bring relevant issues to the attention of the team.
  • Partner with teams including Risk Management, Finance, Legal, Operations, Model Validation, and IT to support Capital Markets initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to additional Capital Markets projects and initiatives as business needs evolve.

What We're Looking For
  • 5 years of experience in banking, financial services, investments, treasury, or a related financial environment.
  • Experience working with financial or investment models used to evaluate securities, investments, funding alternatives, or balance sheet decisions.
  • Understanding of financial risk concepts and the metrics used to evaluate market and balance sheet risk.
  • Strong knowledge of fixed-income markets, with exposure to areas such as agency securities, mortgage-backed securities, derivatives, Treasuries, repo, or federal funds.
  • Understanding of asset/liability management (ALM) and how market conditions can affect a financial institution's balance sheet.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and financial data.
  • Ability to work effectively with financial modeling and analytical software.
