This role will focus on institutional client strategy, investment content, and client service support across Calvert's responsible investing strategies. The Associate will work closely with senior members of the team, Portfolio Managers, Research and Engagement teams, Sales, Marketing, and Compliance to help develop clear, accurate, and client-ready materials for institutional audiences.

The successful candidate will bring 3-6 years of relevant experience in asset management, financial services, investment communications, client service, product support, or a related institutional-facing function. The role is designed for a developing professional who can synthesize investment information, contribute to high-quality client materials, support client and consultant requests, and build strong cross-functional relationships. While exposure to portfolio positioning is helpful, this is not intended to be a senior portfolio specialist role.

A strong interest in responsible investing and institutional asset management is preferred. The Associate will report to the Head of Responsible Investing Strategy, Americas, and will have the opportunity to grow investment knowledge, client communication skills, and strategic content expertise over time.

Key Responsibilities

1. Institutional Client Strategy & Investment Content
  • Support the development of institutional investment materials, including pitchbooks, one-pagers, client updates, fund commentaries, market insights, consultant materials, and thought leadership content.
  • Translate investment process, portfolio positioning, performance context, and responsible investing themes into clear, client-ready messaging with guidance from senior team members.
  • Help maintain consistency, accuracy, and alignment of institutional messaging across client communications and marketing materials.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Management, Portfolio Management, Research, Engagement, and Compliance to coordinate content development, review, and approval workflows.
  • Contribute to scalable content frameworks that connect Calvert's investment capabilities, responsible investing philosophy, and institutional client needs.

2. Client Service & Consultant Support
  • Assist in responding to investment-related inquiries from institutional clients, consultants, and internal partners by coordinating inputs and preparing accurate, timely responses.
  • Support preparation for client meetings, consultant reviews, due diligence meetings, and educational sessions by developing briefing materials, talking points, and follow-up items.
  • Help communicate performance updates, portfolio positioning, market developments, and emerging themes in partnership with senior team members.
  • Support onboarding of new institutional clients and ongoing client due diligence processes as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of client-facing materials, frequently used responses, and approved messaging to improve team efficiency.

3. Business Development & Sales Enablement
  • Partner with Institutional Sales and senior strategy colleagues to support new business efforts, consultant engagement, and prospect follow-up.
  • Contribute to RFPs, consultant questionnaires, due diligence materials, and other sales enablement content.
  • Help prepare materials for prospect meetings, finals presentations, and strategy reviews.
  • Develop familiarity with Calvert's investment strategies, differentiators, competitive positioning, and institutional market trends to support clear and consistent messaging.
  • Assist with internal education efforts by helping Sales and Marketing teams understand strategy positioning and responsible investing themes.

4. Investment Knowledge & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Build understanding of Calvert investment strategies, responsible investing research, active ownership priorities, performance drivers, and institutional client considerations.
  • Coordinate with Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts to gather relevant investment insights and ensure client-facing content is accurate and current.
  • Monitor market, peer, and industry developments that may inform client communications or content priorities.
  • Support special projects that improve client engagement, content quality, reporting efficiency, or team operating processes.
  • Demonstrate strong follow-through, attention to detail, and judgment when working across teams and deadlines.

Qualifications
  • 3-6 years of experience in asset management, financial services, investment communications, institutional client service, product support, RFP/content development, or a related role.
  • Working knowledge of asset management, investment products, portfolio construction, performance drivers, and institutional client needs.
  • Interest in responsible investing and sustainable investing approaches; prior exposure preferred.
  • Ability to synthesize investment information and produce clear, accurate, and polished written materials for professional audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort preparing presentations, client materials, and internal briefing documents.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborative working style with the ability to partner effectively across investment, sales, marketing, product, and compliance teams.
  • Sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving capability, and a desire to build deeper investment and client strategy expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree required; progress toward or interest in CFA, CAIA, MBA, or other relevant credential is a plus.

Preferred Profile
  • Experience supporting institutional clients, consultants, sales teams, investment teams, or product/content functions within asset management.
