This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are looking for a Senior Buyer who is a self-starter critical-thinker responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services for New Glenn Avionics. They manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure the procurement of high-quality products at cost-effective prices in a highly dynamic environment to fulfil new product introductions and production ramp-up demands at best cost

Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing purchasing strategies that align with New Glenn Avionics' goals.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers.
  • Managing supplier relationships to ensure continuous supply and quality.
  • Negotiating contracts and terms with vendors.
  • Evaluating supplier performance and implementing improvements.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to forecast demand and resolve purchasing issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of purchases and inventory levels.


Skills:

Technical Knowledge:
  • Understanding avionics systems and components, including software and hardware (EEE components, PCBs, PCBAs, LRUs, antennas, batteries, sensors, ordnance, harnesses, instrumentation, secondary structures, engineering & testing services).
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in the aerospace sector.


Procurement Expertise:
  • Experience in sourcing, negotiating, procuring, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of vendor management, sourcing strategies, and procurement processes.


Industry Standards:
  • Awareness of industry regulations and IPC standards.


Analytical Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and cost structures.


Communication and Negotiation:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in negotiation techniques to achieve best value agreements.


Project Management:
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.


Collaboration:
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in collaborative engineering environments is a plus.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field, 10 years of experience in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and familiarity with sourcing and procurement software tools.


Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $115,256.00 - $161,357.70
