Location expectations

This role may be designated as U.S. home-based remote. However, if the selected candidate resides near a U.S. Bank location, they will be expected to work onsite three (3) or more days per week.

The Business Analyst partners with product managers, business stakeholders, data scientists, and technology teams to support the delivery of AI-driven solutions that enhance and modernize the end-to-end Mortgage and Home Equity origination experience. This role is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and translating business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflow designs that enable the successful development and implementation of AI-powered capabilities.

The Business Analyst collaborates across the origination lifecycle to define data requirements, model inputs and outputs, decisioning logic, and workflow integrations while ensuring business context is incorporated into solution design and evaluation. The position facilitates stakeholder alignment through requirements workshops, backlog refinement, and cross-functional working sessions, serving as a liaison between business and technical teams. Responsibilities include supporting test planning, user acceptance testing, implementation readiness, and validation of AI-driven solutions to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational needs.

The Business Analyst also supports AI governance, model risk management, regulatory compliance, audit documentation, and control requirements, partnering with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure solutions meet established standards. Additionally, the role contributes to performance measurement, KPI tracking, continuous improvement initiatives, dependency management, and Agile delivery activities to help drive successful adoption and business outcomes. Strong knowledge of mortgage origination processes, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work at the intersection of business, data, and technology are essential for success in this role.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Eight or more years of direct experience with project management responsibilities

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Ability to conduct an analysis of business needs, including scheduling meetings, planning agendas, conferring with business line leaders, documenting and making verbal and written presentations
- Strong understanding and use of project management techniques and testing processes and supervises their use
- Ability to develop test schedules, review testing plans, track test issues and report on test results
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications
- Strong project management, organization and analytical skills
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Effective leadership and negotiation skills
- In-depth knowledge of a business line or function area

-Experience in mortgage lending, home equity lending, or related consumer lending environments.
-Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI), large language models (LLMs), and AI-powered solutions, with experience supporting or implementing AI capabilities within a business environment preferred.
-Demonstrated ability to think strategically, challenge conventional approaches, and provide innovative insights that drive business and process improvements.
-Forward-thinking mindset with a passion for emerging technologies, continuous improvement, and transforming customer and employee experiences.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $86,360.00 - $101,600.00
