Full Job Description
As Mustang Rental Services continues to scale, centralized execution discipline and standard operating practices are critical to delivering profitable growth. We are seeking a driven and analytical Business Systems Specialist to be the owner of end-user tools for new business applications, system enhancements, development, and system training across the organization.

Job Summary

The Business Systems Specialist is responsible for using their knowledge of software programs and business strategies to help maximize productivity and communication. Duties include talking with management to determine their needs, coordinating with IT professionals to create or update software based on those needs and training company employees on how to use the software effectively in their daily jobs.

This role partners closely with IT, Branch Operations, Service, Fleet, Heavy Rents, Sales, and Central Operations to gather requirements, map workflows, and translate business needs into technical specifications while ensuring systems align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify operational pain points, define project goals, and gather functional requirements.
  • Process Mapping: Map current workflows and design future-state processes to incorporate software, automation, or system enhancements.
  • System Optimization: Evaluate existing systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS), troubleshoot issues, and recommend or implement upgrades.
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as the primary translator between business units and technical/development teams to ensure technical feasibility.
  • Testing & Implementation: Develop test cases, conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and manage change during system rollouts.
  • User Training: Create system documentation and provide end-user training to ensure high adoption rates and smooth transitions.


Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, systems administration, or process improvement.
  • Experience in equipment rental, industrial services, logistics, construction, or asset-intensive environments strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of driving execution improvements across multiple locations or teams.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong operational analytics and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to influence without authority across branches and functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; the ability to explain complex IT concepts to non-technical staff and vice versa
