Full Job Description
Business Systems and Automation Manager

Location: Remote, USA
About the role

Coordinate our software ecosystem and design automated, friction-free business operations.

In this role, you'll coordinate Syllo's internal software portfolio across departments and lead the decision-making framework behind how we solve operational challenges. You will act as the connective tissue between business teams (Finance, Revenue Operations, Legal) and Company Operations-evaluating workflow needs, streamlining our vendor suite, and deploying off-the-shelf tools or low-code automations first.

When a complex challenge requires custom engineering, you'll partner closely with our Technical Product Manager to hand off clear business requirements for execution. By blending smart vendor management, API integration, and AI-powered process design, you'll ensure our software stack scales gracefully without accumulating unnecessary technical debt.

We are looking for an operational systems manager who combines strong evaluation discipline, a passion for automation, and a collaborative mindset.
What you will do
  • Coordinate the corporate software suite: Vet, onboard, and manage software availability for distributed teams, optimizing license allocation and vendor partnerships across departments.
  • Drive the build vs. buy evaluation: Apply a documented framework to all internal tooling requests, ensuring engineering capacity is reserved for high-value proprietary work while third-party tools solve standard operational needs.
  • Design system integration pathways: Hold the integration mandate across CRM, Finance, Legal, and Ops stacks, ensuring data moves between systems seamlessly without manual intervention.
  • Implement AI-powered automation: Identify workflow friction points across departments and deploy modern AI tools and automated workflows to increase operational speed and consistency.
  • Hand off custom engineering scope: Translate validated business requirements into clear scope hand-offs for the Technical Product Manager when custom software builds are required.
What you bring
  • Tooling evaluation rigor: Clear discipline for evaluating third-party SaaS platforms against custom engineering effort with long-term cost and maintenance in mind.
  • Systems integration perspective: Understanding of modern API integrations, data flows, and workflow tools across sales, finance, legal, and operations tools.
  • AI workflow innovation: Curiosity and skill in implementing AI tools and low-code/no-code automations to optimize day-to-day operations.
  • Software portfolio management: Experience managing software licensing, vendor relationships, and access provisioning across distributed teams.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Ability to partner across departments, turning disparate team requests into a unified, high-performing software stack.
Experience and qualifications
  • 5+ years managing business technology, IT operations, or business systems in a fast-growing B2B SaaS or enterprise tech environment.
  • Proven track record creating and running evaluation frameworks for internal tools and build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Hands-on experience managing and connecting business applications (e.g., Salesforce/HubSpot, NetSuite, billing systems, contract management tools).
  • Demonstrated experience designing automated workflows using APIs, integration platforms, or AI process automation tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Total rewards and benefits

At Syllo, we believe in taking care of our team so they can focus on building the future of legal tech.
  • Compensation: Competitive base salary + equity options. Range: $140K-180K
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and voluntary insurance options. Vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays. Access to benefit counselors and fitness class reimbursements.
  • Growth: Annual learning and development budget and real career growth in a fast-scaling organization.
