Business Systems Analyst - Workday Financials

Position Type: Full Time, exempt employee.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 annually; DOE.

Location: This position based onsite at our Service Center in San Juan Capistrano, CA.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Systems Analyst - Workday Financials to join our team. As a key member of our Finance-based business support department, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing and maintaining our Workday Financials system to support our financial operations and strategic objectives.

Specific Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Partner with Finance and Payroll stakeholders to document business needs and translate them into functional specifications for technical teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, IT, and other stakeholders, to gather business requirements and translate them into Workday Financials solutions.
  • Configure, maintain, and enhance the Workday Financials system to meet evolving business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Financials, providing guidance and support to end users and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Develop and execute test plans, conduct system testing, and oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure system reliability and accuracy.
  • Monitor system support (help desk) tickets, document new requests, triage and document issues and communicate with end users timely.
  • Participate in system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, evaluating their impact on existing configurations and processes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including process flows, user guides, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with vendors and consultants as needed to implement new modules or functionality.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement, recommending and implementing system enhancements and best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, Workday updates, and financial system advancements to provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Reports to Manager Business Systems, Finance.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in business analysis, technical analysis, product delivery, or a similar role within a technology-driven environment with heavy emphasis on business process and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Proven experience as a Workday Financials Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, processes, and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Workday Financials configuration and functionality.
  • Experience with system implementation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Workday Financials certification (preferred).
