The role

As a Business Systems Analyst you will provide highly specialized technical leadership in the analysis, design, development, configuration and support of cost effective, online HR management and decision support systems.

You will be
  • Responsible for the resolution of complex business problems and must work under tight deadlines, conflicting priorities and changing project requirements. This includes managing multiple small projects, participating in and/or managing specific sections of large projects, and providing ongoing support to all assigned units worldwide (utilizing Agile methodologies where applicable).
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex business problems. Includes analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements, and translating them into systems requirement specifications.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Independently resolve complex, multi-faceted problems to meet business needs, by applying their HR and technological knowledge to the design of methodologies, models, and/or systems solutions. This includes conducting research and analysis, accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes, participating in the reengineering of the HR business process workflows and liaising with the users.
  • Manage multiple small HR technology projects and/or manage specific sections of large projects to implement technology solutions to HR business problems. This involves planning and scheduling resources, developing detailed project plans and monitoring progress against planned objectives.
  • Participate in the systems implementation process by interpreting business requirements into technical specifications, systems analysis, documenting detailed reporting requirements, configuration of HR vendor software and providing post-implementation support.
  • Participate in the review of Quality Assurance (QA) test strategies for assigned projects/initiatives to ensure the planned testing is comprehensive and consistent with the business requirements. Support QA testing by analyzing defects to provide clarification of technical specifications.
  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the Division's business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions and services to the end user business lines.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Produce and maintain key delivery artifacts (functional specifications/configuration workbooks, integration specifications) to support implementations and enhancements.
  • Partner with HR stakeholders (e.g., Product Owners, Pensions & Benefits, Payroll, Technology teams, Risk/Compliance and vendor partners, ) to validate requirements and align solutions to business outcomes.
  • Provide application support and troubleshooting, including incident/problem management, root cause analysis, and participation in major incident and change/release activities as required.
  • Ensure appropriate handling of sensitive employee data by following access controls, audit requirements, and relevant privacy/security policies and Standards

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in HR technology / business systems analysis, including 1-3 years of SAP SuccessFactors experience.
  • Working knowledge of HR business process.
  • Technical skills: advanced Excel and PowerPoint; SQL and data analysis; experience with reporting, integrations and file transfers (e.g., APIs/REST/SOAP concepts, SFTP) and troubleshooting across systems (as applicable to the environment).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential employee information and adhere to security, privacy, and audit/control requirements.
  • Creative, self-starting, results-oriented and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills in order to apply this knowledge to independently resolve complex business problems.
  • Proven interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills in order to build consensus and obtain cooperation from both users and senior management. These skills, along with the incumbent's good time management and organizational skills, will allow the incumbent to effectively manage small projects while planning and scheduling resources within those projects to optimize productivity.
  • Must have a very good understanding of current IT practices, systems development techniques, including requirements specification and testing methodologies, real time analytical and formal modelling tools and keep current with rapidly changing technology.
  • A recognized undergraduate degree in business, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
