The Impact you will have in this role:

The Strategic Management & Governance family is responsible for serving as a dedicated technology resource for advancing the firm's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technologies. Manages significant programs and projects including strategic change management, new business and product initiatives, process re-engineering, and all general business management initiatives. The Business Systems Analysis role specializes in acting as the primary interface between Technology and specific business / product areas, identifying, documenting and analyzing business requirements, creating detailed project and process specifications, coordinating with project teams.

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Validate functional specifications by analyzing business requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams
  • Collaborate with project teams, product management, and stakeholders on all aspects of projects
  • Validate estimates of resource needs and schedule of work with related stakeholders
  • Provide guidance to members of various teams by elaborating the necessary details required through all phases of projects
  • Review input provided to developers and Test Engineers ensuring System Integration and User Acceptance Test scripts properly reflect business and functional requirements
  • Review system documentation to ensure compliance with company-specific best practices and standards
  • Review recommended controls to ensure remediation of perceived risks
  • Validate justification and ROI related to solutions designed to automate manual processes
  • Partner with team managers to understand and support the organization direction, in terms of technology adoption, design patterns, and strategic direction
  • Coordinate with team managers to influence the technical development of team personnel
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams through all phases of projects and advise IT senior leaders regarding strategic direction.
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Qualifications:

Talents Needed for Success:
  • 7+ years of hands-on business systems analysis experience in market risk, risk methodology implementation, or related clearing, exchange, banking, or capital markets environments.
  • Strong market risk methodology fluency across VaR, stress and scenario design, sensitivities, backtesting, coverage analysis, and the practical interpretation of methodology intent for implementation.
  • Deep understanding of CCP margin concepts, strongly preferred including initial margin, mark-to-market margin, clearing fund constructs, concentration and gap add-ons, anti-procyclicality measures, and coverage targets.
  • Exceptional specification discipline with the ability to produce calculation specifications that include worked examples, edge cases, acceptance criteria, and documentation that can withstand audit and validation scrutiny.
  • Proven numerical validation and reconciliation capability including comparison of production outputs to quant prototypes, definition of defensible tolerances, and disciplined root-cause analysis of variances.
  • Strong data and analytical proficiency with advanced SQL skills and practical Python, R, or Excel capability to query data, test assumptions, run prototypes, and perform independent analysis.
  • Solid risk data knowledge across positions, prices, curves, reference data, corporate actions, time-series alignment, and point-in-time/as-of semantics required to reproduce risk results accurately.
  • Effective delivery partnership with experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria, working within agile squads, and partnering closely with engineering, QA, business users, quants, and model validation stakeholders.
  • Regulatory and model risk awareness including familiarity with model validation expectations, model risk management practices, and CCP regulatory frameworks such as SEC Rule 17Ad-22 and CPMI-IOSCO principles.
  • Credibility across business, quant, and technology stakeholders with the judgment to clarify methodology intent, translate it into implementable requirements, and drive alignment without losing confidence from any side.
