ResponsibilitiesThe Peraton Health, State and Local Sector is seeking an entry level Business Systems Analyst. This is an entry-level position designed for someone eager to build a career at the intersection of business operations and technology. In this role, you will support senior team members in analyzing business workflows, documenting system requirements, and ensuring our technical development teams have the clear information they need to build great features.
The ideal candidate is a curious, detail-oriented problem solver who asks great questions, writes clearly, and is excited to learn our systems and methodologies from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Assist in gathering business needs by participating in stakeholder meetings. Help document clear user stories, basic use cases, and initial process flow diagrams under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Process Analysis Support: Help review existing business workflows and systems to identify minor inefficiencies and document opportunities for improvement.
- Team Liaison: Act as a reliable communication bridge between business users and the technical development team, ensuring action items and questions are tracked and resolved.
- System Testing & QA: Participate in the testing of systems, updates, and features. Execute test cases to verify the final deliverables meet the defined requirements.
- User Support & Training: Help create simple user guides, documentation, and assist in providing basic troubleshooting support to end-users during new system rollouts.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Experience: 0–2 years with BS/BA; 4 years of experience in a business analysis, technical support, or project coordination role with a HS Diploma/equivalent. A strong academic foundation or internship experience in information systems, business, or a related field is highly valued.
- Testing & QA Support: Foundational experience or a strong understanding of how to test software features, run basic test cases, and verify that a system works as intended.
- Methodologies: Basic understanding of software development lifecycles and familiarity with standard methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Analytical Approach: Strong aptitude for collecting, organizing, and summarizing information with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to listen actively, ask clarifying questions, and present information clearly.
- Eagerness to Learn: A proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn new tools, technologies, and business domains.
- US Citizen and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tooling: Basic familiarity or exposure to project collaboration and requirements tracking tools like Jira and Confluence.
Target Salary Range$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
