Position Description: CGI is seeking a Senior Utilities Business Systems Analyst to join our growing Utilities practice. In this role, you will partner with utility clients to analyze business needs, optimize business processes, and implement enterprise software solutions that support digital transformation initiatives. You will serve as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with client stakeholders and technical teams to design, configure, test, and deploy solutions that improve operational efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
This role is ideal for a business systems professional who enjoys collaborating directly with clients, facilitating business process improvements, and delivering high-quality software implementations. The position requires the ability to travel extensively to client locations, with travel up to 67% based on project needs.
Your future duties and responsibilities: Facilitate business process discovery sessions with utility clients to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and future-state process flows
Create and maintain functional documentation including business process diagrams, functional specifications, configuration documentation, and solution design artifacts
Configure enterprise utility applications to align with client business processes and evolving operational requirements
Collaborate with client stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and recommend innovative technology solutions that enhance the customer experience
Support software implementations by configuring new functionality, enhancements, interfaces, extensions, and reporting solutions
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve functional issues related to application configuration, integrations, customizations, and system performance
Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts while executing functional and user acceptance testing activities
Design, develop, and deliver end-user training materials and facilitate client training sessions to support successful solution adoption
Partner with cross-functional project teams to ensure successful solution delivery while maintaining high standards for quality, client satisfaction, and project outcomes
Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders throughout all phases of project execution
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
Demonstrated experience working within the utilities industry
Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional solution designs
Experience participating in enterprise software implementation or business transformation projects
Proven ability to develop and deliver effective end-user training and supporting documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex business processes and recommend practical solutions
Excellent verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business audiences
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within fast-paced, client-facing project environments
Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering exceptional client service
Ability and willingness to travel up to 67% to support client engagements
Desired qualifications
Experience with utility Customer Information Systems (CIS), Customer Care and Billing (CC&B),
Meter Data Management (MDM), Asset Management, or related utility platforms
Experience leading business process reengineering initiatives within utility organizations
Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project delivery methodologies
Experience supporting functional testing, user acceptance testing, and production deployments
Previous consulting experience supporting enterprise technology implementations
Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or Agile-related certifications

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $79,600.00 $139,300.00.
