Job Description

Working under the direction of the Director of Business Intelligence and Principal Application Architect, independently performs the full range of functional administration and operational support activities for departmental business applications supporting UCSF Real Estate and Capital Projects.

Applies professional Information Systems concepts to administer, configure, maintain, and support Oracle Primavera Unifier and may provide secondary application support for other Real Estate applications, which may include the Accela permitting platform and departmental SharePoint sites. Serves as the primary functional administrator for assigned business applications by administering end-user accounts; managing application security roles, permissions, and access requests; performing periodic security and permissions reviews; maintaining workflows, forms, templates, and configuration settings; coordinating support requests; maintaining application and configuration documentation; and ensuring the reliable day-to-day operation of supported applications within established governance processes.

Collaborates with the Principal Application Architect to implement approved technical solutions, maintain application reliability, support system enhancements, ensure application configurations align with established architectural standards, and support the secure administration of departmental business applications.

Partners with Business Systems Analysts, business stakeholders, and the Principal Application Architect to translate approved functional requirements and technical designs into application configurations, coordinate testing and deployment activities, develop application documentation and training materials, and support successful implementation of business process improvements.

Exercises independent judgment within established departmental procedures and technical architecture while escalating strategic, architectural, security, integration, and enterprise technology decisions to the Principal Application Architect.

Collaborates closely with Business Intelligence team members, Real Estate staff, and technical resources to promote effective use of departmental business applications and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • 3+ years of relevant progressive experience
  • Demonstrated experience administering enterprise or departmental business applications.
  • Experience managing user accounts, role-based security, user provisioning, permission management, and periodic access reviews.
  • Experience coordinating software testing, upgrades, and release activities.
  • Experience working with software vendors and external support organizations.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent / related functions.
  • Excellent customer service and end-user support skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex application issues.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Experience supporting capital planning, facilities management, construction, or real estate business operations.
  • Experience in higher education, healthcare, or other large, complex organizations.
