Business Strategy Analyst

About the Role

At The Family Security Plan, we believe great business decisions start with asking the right questions. As a Business Strategy Analyst, you'll partner every day with our leadership team to help shape decisions that affect company growth, customer experience, and long-term strategy. This role is designed for someone who wants to own meaningful analytical work from defining the business question through presenting recommendations to leadership.

You'll often work with incomplete information, develop reasonable assumptions, test your thinking, and refine your recommendations as new information becomes available. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of business challenges. Projects may include forecasting revenue, identifying the drivers behind business performance, evaluating customer segments, measuring marketing effectiveness, analyzing operational improvements, and helping leadership evaluate new business opportunities.

Example Projects You'll Lead

Every project begins with a business question. You'll partner with leaders across the organization to investigate opportunities and develop recommendations that influence business decisions.

  • Developing customer segmentation models that identify opportunities for growth, marketing optimization, and improved business performance.
  • Investigating the business drivers that influence customer behavior, lifetime value, and long-term business performance.
  • Building long-term revenue forecasting models that help leadership evaluate growth strategies and business scenarios.
  • Evaluating compensation plans, incentive programs, and commission structures to understand how they influence sales performance and business outcomes.
  • Measuring wallet share and identifying opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and increase long-term value.
  • Supporting market expansion and community growth initiatives by identifying opportunities and measuring business impact.
  • Designing analytical models that improve field scheduling, territory planning, and operational efficiency.
  • Partnering with Technology to validate major system implementations and ensure business processes continue to perform as expected.
  • Developing executive-level financial and operational analyses that support strategic planning and organizational performance.

Within your first year, you will be expected to:

  • Become the person leaders seek out when they need to understand why business performance has changed and what should happen next.
  • Take ownership of multiple analytical models that directly influence strategic business decisions.
  • Independently investigate complex business questions, identify the key drivers behind performance, and communicate practical recommendations.
  • Improve existing forecasting, customer segmentation, and business performance models by challenging assumptions and continuously refining their accuracy.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative or business-related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in an analytical role with demonstrated ownership of business analysis, analytical models, or decision support that influenced business strategy or operational performance.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to independently organize data, identify trends, build analytical models, and clearly explain conclusions.
  • Experience investigating ambiguous business questions, developing reasonable assumptions, and translating analysis into practical business recommendations.
  • Strong critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and the confidence to challenge assumptions using data.
