Responsibilities

Join a team dedicated to protecting the safety and integrity of U.S. air travel. We are seeking a Business Process Analyst to help modernize and optimize operations supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In this role, you will shape the processes that enable critical aviation programs to operate safely, efficiently, and at scale. You will work alongside FAA stakeholders, engineers, and program leaders to evaluate how work is done today and design how it should be done tomorrow. 

 

Work Location:

  • This position is 100% on-site, primarily located in Chantilly, VA, with an alternate work location available in Bowie, MD. Candidates must be able to work on-site at one of these locations based on program requirements.

 

In this position, you will:

 

Process Analysis & Optimization

  • Lead business process analysis, design, and optimization across FAA programs. Translate operational challenges into efficient, compliant future-state processes.

Strategic Insight & Performance Measurement

  • Provide data-driven insights through gap analyses, impact assessments, and KPIs. Evaluate current- and future-state performance to guide continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Facilitate workshops to capture requirements and identify improvement opportunities. Partner with FAA stakeholders, program managers, and technical teams to deliver practical solutions.

Technology Integration & Enablement

  • Collaborate with IT and systems teams to align business processes with technology solutions. Support process alignment during system implementations and upgrades.

Change Management & Executive Communication

  • Support adoption through training, communications, and stakeholder engagement. Prepare executive-level briefings, dashboards, and reports on progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience or Masters degree and 3 years experience or Associate’s degree and 7 years experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 9 years experience.  
  • Experience in business process analysis, workflow design, or process improvement.
  • Experience in agile technical and business process analysis, user story development, workflow design, or process improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of federal compliance requirements and process frameworks.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and how they intersect with business processes.
  • Experience defining process performance dashboards and monitoring tools.
  • Strong skills in documentation, audit readiness, and compliance reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct FAA or NAS configuration management experience.
  • Familiarity with aviation operations, air traffic management, or transportation systems.
  • Experience supporting federal modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of federal governance, compliance, or operational processes.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams involving engineering, IT, and operations.
  • Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or similar credentials.

Target Salary Range$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
