Full Job Description
The Position

This role will design and produce standard and ad-hoc visual insights/reports and will be directly responsible for translating data into meaningful, digestible, and actionable insights. This role develops dashboards, reports, PowerApps and reusable semantic models; creates and maintains dataflows; defines data and database requirements for data engineering teams; and orchestrates workflow automation to improve data operations and reporting efficiency. They serve as a bridge between Sales and Marketing and technical teams, ensuring data solutions are accurate, scalable, and aligned to business goals. This role works with different stakeholders in the organization to provide analysis and insight through data.

Responsibilities
  • Gather business requirements to conceptualize, design and develop/project manage delivery of interactive data visualization translating raw data into compelling insights; develop data-driven stories and executive presentations.
  • Develop and distribute actionable key performance indicators (KPI's), Gross to net, and sales reports on national, district and territory geographies for each species business unit.
  • Develop smart, compelling business intelligence assets for Marketing teams to track KPI's, identify trends, and monitor Marketing initiatives and processes. Responsibility for secondary data analysis and reporting that supports and challenges brand/TA performance and promotion evaluation.
  • Partner with data technology team to oversee and drive the creation of data products, helping to define source system requirements, ETL, and data delivery into a standard data warehouse. Use this data to create standard and scalable semantic models and data flows that can be leveraged by different reports and dashboards.
  • Evaluate emerging Business intelligence technologies. Provide thought and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
  • Implementation of compliance requirements. Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations and BICL compliance guidelines and procedures. Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business transactions in order to maintain BICL's excellent reputation within the industry.
  • Plan and execute the modernization of the existing catalogue of BI assets to the latest data platforms and methods focusing on automation, standardization and scalability.


This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible.
Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields with an emphasis on statistics and business analysis.
  • Proficiency in advanced mathematics/statistics (regressions, optimization, clustering analysis, predictive modeling etc.)
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a non-academic setting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an analytical business function
  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical field
  • 5 years of experience in business analytics reporting or similar role
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to convert raw data into useable visual insights
  • Previous experience supporting a commercial organization with reports and analytics that drive business insights
  • Prior hands-on experience working with business intelligence and dashboarding tools (PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Technical fluency with data preparation and predictive modeling
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional matrixed environment
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment in a positive and supportive manner
  • Experience in data mining structured and unstructured data (SQL, ETL, data warehouse, etc.) in a business environment with large-scale, complex data sets
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Advanced Excel expertise needed (VBA, functions, connections to external datasources, PpwerQuery, etc.)

The salary range for this position is from $85,530 - $114,000. Performance, relevant experience and competency in the role will be a key factor in driving the compensation offered. In addition, this position is eligible for a variable bonus target opportunity of 12% of the annual base salary.
