About the role

Job Summary
The Business Excellence / Development Sr. Expert is responsible for driving strategic planning and operational improvement initiatives across the organization. This role applies deep subject matter expertise to identify growth opportunities, optimize business processes, and align operations with corporate goals. The position plays a key role in managing large-scale projects and mentoring junior professionals.
This job profile is intended for recognized subject matter experts in a job area. Required to manage large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager. Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead the Americas Business Development & Sales Operations organization, including business intelligence, CRM governance, sales process management, installed-base development, forecasting, and commercial analytics.
  • Drive regional business development initiatives focused on new account acquisition, white-space opportunities, emerging applications, geographic expansion, and strategic growth markets.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Sulzer and OEM-X installed base opportunities across the Americas.
  • Establish systems and processes to track customer turnarounds (STOs), revamps, expansions, debottlenecking projects and maintenance cycles.
  • Own CRM governance, opportunity management discipline, data quality standards, and forecasting processes.
  • Coordinate pipeline reviews, forecasting processes, backlog analysis, and commercial performance reporting.
  • Develop commercial dashboards, KPIs, and business intelligence tools to support decision making.
  • Support deployment of market-based pricing initiatives and commercial governance processes.
  • Partner with Sales, APT and Service Operations teams to identify and prioritize growth opportunities.
  • Conduct market analysis, competitor assessments, and strategic business evaluations.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead, coach and develop business development, commercial analytics, and sales operations personnel.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related discipline.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales operations, commercial excellence, strategic marketing, or sales leadership.
  • Experience within refining, petrochemical, chemical processing, LNG, gas processing, engineered equipment, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems, forecasting, business analytics, pipeline management, and commercial governance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
