Full Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expanding Strata's presence within the North American mining industry. This role focuses on identifying, developing, and managing new and existing business opportunities for Strata's technology portfolio while building strong strategic relationships across mining operators, contractors, consultants, OEMs, and industry partners.

The Business Development Manager plays a critical role in achieving regional revenue objectives through proactive pipeline development, account growth, and customer engagement. Working closely with the North American Sales Director and cross-functional internal teams, this individual will help execute regional sales strategies, support forecasting and budgeting activities, and provide valuable market intelligence that contributes to Strata's competitive positioning and long-term growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen with practical mining industry knowledge and a proven track record of successful sales and business development performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Expand, sustain, and manage new business opportunities for Strata's technology portfolio within the North American mining industry
  • Identify and pursue new customer opportunities across mining operators, contractors, consultants, OEMs, and channel partners
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, accounts, dealers, and key industry contacts
  • Execute territory and account growth strategies aligned with company objectives and regional sales plans
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to drive account growth by identifying and developing opportunities to introduce additional Strata solutions across existing customer operations
  • Prepare and deliver quotations, proposals, presentations, and commercial documentation
  • Coordinate and support submissions for Tenders, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Achieve annual sales targets and business development objectives
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, activity reporting, and opportunity tracking
  • Collaborate with Product Management to provide customer feedback, market insights, and product development recommendations that strengthen Strata's competitive differentiation
  • Conduct customer site visits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations to support the sales process
  • Monitor mining industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to support strategic planning and positioning
  • Represent Strata at trade shows, conferences, networking events, and customer meetings throughout North America
  • Support commercial negotiations and contract discussions in alignment with company objectives


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Relevant degree, diploma, or technical certification from a college, university, or technical school preferred
  • Proven successful track record in business development, technical sales, or account management
  • Commercial experience within the mining industry required
  • Industry experience working with or supporting mine operators, contractors, consultants, OEMs, or mining suppliers preferred
  • Strong understanding of mining operations, mining technology, and/or industrial solutions
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience managing complex sales opportunities and customer relationships
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications

REQUIREMENTS
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States and Canada (approximately 50%)
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to visit and work within active mining and industrial environments, including use of required PPE
